The slush of NYC and the prospect of several more cold weeks brings to mind a moody mix perfectly suited for this dreary time of year. But moody modern design does not mean depressing. Moody evokes mystery, and context, and hidden dimensions.
Moody is a state to ponder the bigger questions in life instead of the ordinary regiments of the day-to-day. An escape from the city is necessary to contemplate, unwind, and unplug from the constant motion of NYC. But where to go? A beach in the tropics sounds tempting during this last rush of frigid weather, but the allure of a mountain escape seems more fulfilling. Untouched landscapes provide one of the best sources of inspiration, if only to clear your mind and soul. I’m thinking a cabin on Montana or a small castle in the Alps – or maybe even Iceland. Strip off the extraneous and get back to the elemental. What could be more beautiful?
